In this issue, we’ll cover how to launch your Shopify Store and teach you the best tricks to promote and grow your brand. While there’s no perfect formula, with the right tools and a little research, you can launch your store and start selling products in no time.

When Should You Launch Your Store?
There is no best time to launch your Shopify store but remember, entrepreneurs don’t launch successful Shopify stores on a whim, and neither should you. In truth, the best time to launch is when you are ready.

When you go live with your store, make sure you have a strategy to optimize growth after launch. If you don't have a plan for your first few months, you could end up wasting countless hours and burning through your advertising budget without seeing results.

Don't Forget To Test
Shopify recommends you complete two tasks before you launch: Test your orders and remove the password from your online store.

Test orders help you ensure that every aspect of your Shopify store works correctly. Test orders check your store’s checkout process, order processor, inventory, shipping, and taxes. Test orders are free of charge, so feel free to perform as many tests as necessary on the Shopify Payment Settings page.

Shopify has password-protected store pages as a default setting for privacy reasons, so if you want your visitors to reach your site, you’ll need to remove your store’s online password. You can do this in 3 simple steps:

  1. From your Shopify administrators page, go to Online Store > Preferences.
  2. In the Password page section, uncheck the Enable password page option.
  3. Click Save.

Start A Buzz on Social Media With A Pre-Launch Contest
Many entrepreneurs want to launch their new e-commerce business with a bang, but only a few realize that a successful launch is not just about a great product. It’s also about creating buzz beforehand, so you promote the store right after.

Pre-launch contests are single-entry giveaways that award one or more prizes before the launch. These launch contests create a community of people who can help you promote your new brand and help capture the excitement. Contests are easy to set up and provide value because you can track user engagement through the number of entries, views, and shares that your content receives.

There are several ways you can run your contest:

  1. You can ask people to follow your store on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for an entry, or for extra entries, you can ask them to share the contest with their followers on social media. The more effort it takes for someone to enter your contest, the more likely they are to share it with their friends and family.
  1. Run a pre-launch contest that needs a unique hashtag that people need to use to enter. This is especially effective if you're using Instagram as one of the entry methods since hashtags are such a prominent part of the platform. Just be sure that the hashtag isn't being used by another company or influencer so that you don't run into any issues later down the line when trying to track your entries.
  1. Partner with an influencer or existing brand to promote the contest/giveaway and announce the prize winner. This increases exposure and builds credibility.

Tell Your Brand Story
Building an e-commerce business can feel like a lonely journey. There is you, your idea, and the work it takes to bring that idea to life. A smart entrepreneur knows that launching an e-commerce business isn't just about starting a website, it's also about crafting a story that customers can connect with and share with others.

Before you launch your e-commerce business, consider how you'll tell your story on your Shopify store page. This is how you get your audience excited about what makes your brand unique and what you have to offer. The more engaged they are, the more likely they are to buy from you.

To make sure that happens, create a set of brand guidelines for yourself. For example:

- The tone of voice 

- Your logo and how (and where) it can be used

- Approved brand colors

- The typeface or font you use in any marketing material or on your site

- Imagery style

These tips will help ensure that the tone, look and feel of your site is consistent across the board, and give visitors a sense of who you are and what you stand for.
